The latest Innovation from DODD AUDIO is this very new battery powered tube buffer.
This cannot actually be classified as a preamp because it provides NO gain.
What it is, is a tube buffered passive linestage. For anyone who doesn't need any gain or those who prefer passive pre's then this is for you. It provides 0 gain, but it has a very low output impedance,( around 130 ohms) that allows the use of very long or problematic cables without any loss in sonic qualities. For anyone needing no gain or for those who just like passives then this is the product for you!
It uses 2 tubes from the 6DJ8 family and you can even use the Russian 6N1P without any problems!
It has 3 inputs and 2 sets of outputs and remote volume.
It features an automatic muted turn on delay and it also has a mute function so you can make cable changes without having to turn it off and back on. It turns on and off totally silent.
You power this from any 12 volt battery/batteries you prefer and the proper charger to recharge them.
All units will be supplied with a cable consisting of a Neutric Power-con connector and alligator clips, of course you can terminate them to work best for your battery.
All units use Cardas rca's
They will be available in Maple or a dark wood with a satin finish, the chassis will be all black.
The output capacitors are the wonderful Sonicaps.
These can be upgraded if you prefer something different. Call for quotes on upgrades.
It's chassis is the same size as the new battery amp and all of it's contents are on the inside so both units can be stacked, ( 9"x8"x4") 10 pounds or so.
